Caswell Photo Restoration Terms & Conditions: March 2019
Introduction
Caswell Photo Restoration’ (our or we below) objectives are to restore, scan and / or print your original image (slide, photograph or negative) to the best possible condition. Our fees for these services will vary depending on the work involved, as detailed in our price list.
Our restoration fees are based on the amount & location of any damage to the original image & are grouped into various levels. Before we start to work on any image we will tell you how much our work is going to cost. It is very important to be aware that not all images can be completely restored.
Image Handling
We recognise how important your images are to you & will take the best possible care of them but cannot be held liable if they are accidentally damaged.
Scanning & / or digital restoration does not damage original images in any way & all original images will be kept safe & stored in archival quality plastic folders. We do not physically restore or clean any images & this should never be attempted without the required specialist skills & equipment.
Process
Our services are personal. This means that we will do all we can to either come & collect your original image(s) or arrange for you to deliver them to us. We will discuss our services with you & explain what we will do, how much we will charge & when we estimate we will have completed our work.
By asking us to restore or reproduce your images you are committing to pay for our services.
When we have finished our work we will return your original images to you, together with your new prints / DVDs as appropriate, or arrange for you to collect them from us.
Payment
We will invoice you when we have completed our work. Payment is expected upon the return of your images & the receipt of your invoice. You can pay for our work in cash or by bank transfer, details of which will be on your invoice.
Copyright
Images that are protected by copyright laws cannot be worked on. In asking us to restore or reproduce any image you are affirming that no copyright is infringed. We will not be liable to you or any third party for such copyright infringement, even if that loss or damage was foreseeable by, or the possibility of it was brought to our attention. You will be liable for any claims that may arise.
Privacy
We will keep your name & contact details on file in order to be able to contact you about the work we are doing for you. Those details will be kept securely & will not be sold or passed on to any third party. Scanned copies of your original & restored images will be retained for any future re-working that may be required unless you ask us not to do so.
We will not use your images for advertising purposes without your permission but we may ask for this from time to time. If we do use your image (to demonstrate a specific restoration technique for example or to show how successful a particular restoration has been) we will not use your name or give any personal details.
